Dr. Gerd Kommer

Dr. Gerd Kommer, LL.M. is the founder and managing director of Gerd Kommer Invest GmbH and Gerd Kommer GmbH.

Before founding Gerd Kommer Invest in January 2017, Gerd Kommer worked for around 24 years in corporate lending and institutional asset management at various banks in Germany, South Africa and the UK. Most recently, he headed the London branch and the Infrastructure & Asset Finance division of a German asset management company until the end of 2016. In this position, he was responsible for a portfolio of structured loans and bonds with a volume of EUR 16 billion.

Gerd Kommer has published several books of financial advice. He studied business administration, tax law, German studies and political science in Germany, the USA and Liechtenstein (M.A., MBA, Dr. rer. pol., LL.M.).

He spends his free time with his partner (priority 1), his Italian greyhound Shiva, cycling (summer), skiing (winter), fitness training, ballroom dancing (swing and salsa), reading and writing articles and books on investment topics.
